Wendy Sherman
Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman on Wednesday accused the Taliban of not following through on their promises of allowing for safe travels and access to Kabul airport.
“We have seen reports that the Taliban, contrary to their public statements and their commitments to our government, are blocking Afghans who wish to leave the country from reaching the airport,” Wendy Sherman said.
“Our military partners are engaging directly with the Taliban to make clear that we expect them to allow all American citizens, all 3rd country nationals and all Afghans who wish to leave to do so safely and without harassment,” she added.

Meanwhile things are so bad that even CNN sys it’s “impossible” for Americans or Afghan allies to travel through Taliban territory to get to the airport.
“No way they’re going to be able to navigate that. Very dicey. Very dangerous,” CNN’s Clarissa Ward said on Wednesday.
