Social Media Explodes After O.J. Simpson Included in Super Bowl Pre-Game Tribute
America doesn’t agree on much, but nearly all Americans agree O.J. Simpson brutally murdered his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
So it was beyond weird when the National Football League included the former star running back in a pre-game tribute during Super Bowl LIV. Simpson, who was recently named one of the 100 greatest players of all time, was not part of a ceremony that took place before the big game. But the Fox network did display his name and photo in a graphic that included other legendary running backs, PopCulture.com reported.
Social media, predictably, exploded. Simpson, after all, isn’t just the guy who killed his ex-wife and friend, he also did hard time in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery.
“Bold move including OJ Simpson in the list of NFL honorees,” wrote on person on Twitter.

Simpson posted his own message on Twitter before the Super Bowl.
“Finally it’s Super Bowl Sunday and I just can’t wait,” he said in a video clip. “I’m going to a real Super Bowl party.”
