Breaking: President Trump Pardons former 49ers Owner Eddie Debartolo, Jr. at White House

President Donald Trump pardoned Edward Debartolo, Jr. today at the White House.

Debartolo Jr. is an American businessman best known for his 23-year ownership of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).[2] The five Super Bowls the 49ers dynasty won in 14 years were a record total for a single owner.

Several NFL stars joined Debartolo, Jr. at the Trump White House today for the announcement.

Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott attended the ceremony today.

CBS San Francisco reported:

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday granting clemency for Edward DeBartolo Jr. for his 1998 involvement in the corruption case against former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards.

The NFL forced DeBartolo to turn over ownership of the 49ers to his sister, Denise York, after his conviction of failing to report a felon. Former 49ers star Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott were at the White House for the announcement.
