Speaker Pelosi to Make Statement at 5 P.M. Following Impeachment Meeting with House Democrats

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will make an announcement at 5 p.m. EDT Tuesday following a meeting with the House Democrat caucus on impeaching President Trump according to her Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill, “Speaker Pelosi will make a statement at 5 p.m. following the House Democratic Caucus meeting. Advisory coming…”

Pelosi also informed reporters she would be making an “announcement”, reported CBS News:

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters she will be making an announcement after a caucus-wide meeting with House Democrats Tuesday, as more Democrats are voicing support for initiating impeachment proceedings against President Trump. They are pressing for an investigation of a call between Mr. Trump and the Ukrainian president during which Mr. Trump talked about former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.”

Pelosi is set to speak during the 2 o’clock hour at the Atlantic Festival. The meetings with Democrats start after that appearance. Politico’s Jake Sherman posted the schedule, “Here’s the sequence this afternoon: — 3p: pelosi meets w the chairmen — 3:30p: dem leadership meeting —4p: dem caucus meeting — 5p: pelosi statement. Expect impeachment to get much more real today, process fleshed out.”

On Sunday Pelosi sent out a ‘Dear Colleague’ letter on the alleged whistleblower complaint that reads in part:

…If the Administration persists in blocking this whistleblower from disclosing to Congress a serious possible breach of constitutional duties by the President, they will be entering a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us into a whole new stage of investigation.”
