Just when you think MSNBC can’t go any lower, boom, they do.
“Morning Joe”co-host Mika Brzezinski on Friday seemed to suggest that President Trump isn’t Barron Trump’s biological father,
The liberal hosts and guests were discussing the Democratic debate on Thursday night, including former Vice President Joe Biden‘s bumbling performance, when co-host Joe Scarborough brought up a supposed gaffe Trump made as he announced the banning of flavored vaping products.
Trump said his move was an effort to protect young people, adding “that’s how the First Lady got involved. She’s got a son — together — that is a, a beautiful young man. And she feels very, very strongly about it.”
“We’re going to have a new segment on Morning Joe and it’s going to be called ‘Adventures in Syntax’,” Scarborough said. “We’re going to have Donald Trump yesterday in the White House talking about Melania’s son, and mumbling the word together.”
“Maybe it is Melania’s son,” Brzezinski said of Barron, 13.
“It is Melania’s son,” Scarborough replied.
“That’s what he was saying, it was just her son. That’s not — that’s just what he said,” Brzezinski said.
Scarborough tried to save the show, saying “Let me get back to Biden because I don’t know what you’re saying.”
“Well, it seems like he didn’t remember Barron’s name or…” Brzezinski said.
“Just stop,” Scarborough said. “We’ll let the tape play itself, OK?”
“Daily Show” host also mocked Trump, playing the video and then saying, “She’s got a son? You mean the son she made with you?”
“How on Earth does Trump forget that he has a son? He’s like the world’s worst dad,” Noah said. “At least Darth Vader claimed his son. If Trump was the Dark Lord, he would be like, ‘Luke, she is your mother.'”
Late night host Stephen Colbert also played the clip and then impersonated Trump. “The first lady has got a son — together. It’s a mutual son. Of course, I’m very involved with the doings of it, and so is the first lady, who is a lovely mother, together, who I love and know her name. So well that I won’t waste your time saying it out loud.”
The children of Barack Obama were off-limits for the media, but apparently not so for Trump.
