President Trump Signs Order to Forgive Student Loan Debt For Disabled Veterans

President Trump on Wednesday announced he will be signing an order to forgive student loan debt for permanently disabled veterans.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos accompanied Trump on Wednesday and said the president’s order will eliminate an average of $30,000 in debt for each of the 25,000 veterans eligible.

“The debt of disabled veterans will be entirely erased,” Trump said at the 75th annual American Veterans convention. “In a few moments, I will sign a memorandum directing the Department of Education to eliminate every penny of federal student loan debt owed by American veterans who are completely and permanently disabled.”

President Trump then signed the executive order in front of hundreds of veterans in the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.

“The debt of these disabled veterans will be entirely erased. It will be gone,” Trump said. “Sleep well tonight.”

God bless our veterans.
