An Open Letter to Anne Cori

Jim Hoft and the great Phyllis Schlafly following the Republican Convention in Cleveland, 2016

Nearly fifteen years ago I started The Gateway Pundit as an alternative voice to the far left mainstream media. This was before YouTube, Facebook and online advertising.

I grew The Gateway Pundit by being consistent, courageous, interesting and accurate. The goal was to provide an alternative view to the partisan and dishonest establishment media. That is still our goal.

The Gateway Pundit grew from two or three readers a day to 800,000 readers a day in August 2019. We never had a corporate sponsor. We only had our readers.

I created The Gateway Pundit to promote the conservative movement. And in 2017 The Gateway Pundit was ranked by Harvard and Columbia Journalism Review as the 4th most influential conservative publisher during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

In 2016 after the horror of the Pulse nightclub massacre and the media’s intent to blame this bloody jihadist attack on “guns” I came out about my sexuality. The media and Democrats were willing to ignore this killer’s loyalty to ISIS for partisan reasons. I decided then I could not stay silent after Democrats lied to the American public. They used the lives of dead gays on a dance floor to further their political ambitions to push gun control.

In 2018 The Gateway Pundit joined with  Phyllis Shlafly.com for Phyllis Schlafly’s Gateway Eagle Council XLVII in St. Louis.

The conference was a great success.  We planned to build on that success this year.

Then three weeks ago I received notice that Phyllis Shlafly’s daughter Anne Cori was sending out emails to attendees to this year’s conference trashing The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft and Twitter sensation Scott Presler.

I spoke to Scott about this earlier.  Scott Presler is one of the hardest working pro-Trump conservatives in the country with a HUGE social media presence.  What makes Scott so special is he gets things done…. Like the Baltimore cleanup operation earlier this month.

I need to be clear here. Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly passed away in 2016. Phyllis was a Trump supporter as were her sons. Anne Cori was not and did not appreciate her mother’s vocal support for Donald Trump. Since Phyllis’s death Anne Cori has been filing lawsuits against her pro-Trump brothers. It is a tragic situation. John and Andy Schlafly have always been very kind and respectful to me and my brother Joe.

Anne Cori thought this was a good idea to send this out. Notice the link she included was a wedding notice from April from a local paper.  A short time after Anne’s email I was contacted by an aggressive reporter from far-left website Daily Beast requesting my comments regarding Anne’s email.  I expect they have already prepared a hit piece using Anne’s email to disparage the Eagle Forum and me.  This is the last thing that I, and I no doubt Phyllis, ever wanted.

I last saw Phyllis Schlafly after the 2016 Republican Convention and took the picture with her above.  She was an icon in the conservative movement and she passed away a few weeks later.  She reminded me of my mother who was loving, kind, strong and full of wisdom.   She loved her children and this country.

I have no children but many nieces and nephews and readers who I love.  This is the last thing they and I ever wanted.  I’ll continue to love America, Trump and the great people who make the USA the greatest country on earth and I’ll continue to pray for those who don’t see things as I do.

There is much more I could say about this situation but for now I just wanted to get this out before any liberal media outlet publishes some kind of hit piece.

I do hope and pray that in the future when we see such abusive words that we are courageous enough to reach out and show our support to our friends and associates.
