DEVELOPING: Reporters Unexpectedly Summoned to Oval Office – Trump Reveals He Has Completed Asylum Agreement with Guatemala

The White House press pool was unexpectedly summoned to the Oval Office on Friday afternoon.

“The White House press office just summoned the in-house pool for some reason. There’s nothing on the president’s schedule.”

“Trump is telling the press pool in the Oval Office that he has completed a “safe third country” asylum agreement with Guatemala. This is a game-changer if it pans out,” David Martosko added.

CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller posted a photo Friday afternoon of the agreement being signed.

“Pres Trump looks on as US and Guatemala sign immigration agreement to provide “safe third country” arrangements for those in Guatemala seeking asylum in US,” Mark Knoller said in a tweet.

Full details of the agreement have not yet been released.

On Tuesday, President Trump blasted Guatemala: “Guatemala … has decided to break the deal they had with us on signing a necessary Safe Third Agreement. We were ready to go,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. “Guatemala has not been good.”

On Friday Guatemala decided to reverse course!

Earlier this week President Trump’s previous “safe third country” asylum policy was temporarily halted by Obama-appointed activist judge Jon Tigar who issued a preliminary injunction.

Trump’s ‘third party’ asylum policy would ban asylum seekers who pass through another ‘safe’ country while they are en route to the United States.
