The Democrat-led House Oversight Committee on Wednesday approved a contempt resolution for Attorney General Bill Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross over subpoenaed documents related to the 2020 census question.
Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) threatened to hold Attorney General Bill Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt Wednesday morning for defying congressional subpoenas to testify and turn over docs.
Trump basher Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) was the only Republican to vote with Democrats to hold Barr and Ross in contempt.
“Oversight Committee approves contempt resolution for Barr and Ross over the Census. The vote was 24-15. All Democrats voted yes. All Republicans voted no except Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) who voted yea. The resolution must go to the floor to have both Barr and Ross held in contempt,” Fox News Congress reporter Chad Pergram tweeted on Wednesday.

President Trump thumped Rep. Elijah Cummings earlier Wednesday and asserted executive privilege over subpoenaed documents related to the 2020 census question.
After hitting back at Cummings Tuesday night and threatening to assert executive privilege, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd sent the House Oversight Committee another letter Wednesday morning saying the Trump Administration has “engaged in good-faith efforts” to satisfy the committee’s oversight requests, reported theAssociated Press.
“Unfortunately, rather than allowing the Department to complete its document production, you have chosen to go forward with an unnecessary and premature contempt vote,” Boyd wrote in Wednesday’s letter.
Hopefully Justin Amash gets primaried by pro-Trump challenger Michigan State Rep. Jim Lower.
