President Trump RIPS Open Borders Chamber of Commerce – Threatens to Leave Organization

Neil Bradley is the executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer with the US Chamber of Commerce.

On Friday Bradley joined Varney and Co. to attack President Trump over his proposed tariffs on Mexican goods.

Most everything Neil shared was totally inaccurate.

Neil Bradley: We’re urging the administration not to proceed with these tariffs. I hope they are delayed but honestly I hope they are taken off the table… I think the difference here with Mexico is we have a migration problem and it’s a crisis on the southern border. But imposing tariffs on consumers and businesses won’t do anything to affect that migration problem… It’s a complicated problem but it involves doing things with Mexico. Mexico is also suffering over this crisis at the border. These are individuals that are crossing through their country and moving up through it. We need to work in partnership with them both to secure our southern border and their southern border. And ultimately we have to take action to address problems in the northern triangle. The root cause of this is the violence and economic despair in those countries. We should be working with Mexico and other allies to address that problem not weakening our economy and the Mexican economy.

After Trump announced tariffs Mexico freezed the bank accounts of human traffickers and sent 6,000 soldiers to the border with Guatemala.

The threat of tariffs worked.

On Monday President Trump called into CNBC’s Squawk Box to discuss several topics including the open border with Mexico.
President Trump ripped the US Chamber of Commerce.

Via Breitbart.com:

“I’m a member of the U.S. Chamber, maybe I’ll have to rethink that because when you look at it, the chamber is probably more for the companies and the people that are members than they are for our country,” Trump said…

…The president called CNBC after Myron Brilliant, the head of international affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, warned on CNBC that Trump’s tariff threats would hurt trade with the United States…

…The Chamber of Commerce, he said, had opposed his proposed policies for years, warning them that they were making a big mistake by opposing his use of tariffs.

“Frankly, I’ve never had support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce because they know where I stand on these things. I don’t need money, I don’t care about these things. The only thing I care about is our country,” Trump said.
