Democrat Rashida Tlaib Defends Palestinians, Attacks Israel as Over 600 Gaza Rockets Bombard Israel in Conflict Started By Palestinians on Friday
Muslim Palestinian-American Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) attacked Israel and spoke out in support of Palestinians in Gaza in the midst of the latest armed conflict between Israel and Gaza involving over 600 hundred rockets being launched from Gaza into Israel since Saturday morning by Hamas and the Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups. The latest conflict started when Palestinians shot two Israeli soldiers Friday and Israel responded with deadly force, killing four Palestinians.

Tlaib wrote on Twitter, “When will the world stop dehumanizing our Palestinian people who just want to be free? Headlines like this & framing it in this way just feeds into the continued lack of responsibility on Israel who unjustly oppress & target Palestinian children and families. #FreePalestine”

Tlaib was commenting on a post by Yousef Munayyer, Excutive Director of the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights who complained about media coverage of the conflict, “This is a stunningly irresponsible and misleading headline. Israel shot dozens of unarmed Palestinian protestors in Gaza on Friday and killed 4 Palestinians, including two protesters, in Gaza before any projectiles were launched.”

The current escalation began Friday with shots being fired at Israeli soldiers, wounding two, along a fence where Palestinians have gathered for weekly violent protests against Israel. Israel, killed two protesters and wounded several more. Israel also killed two Hamas terrorists in a separate response.
Israel killed two Hamas militants in air strikes on Gaza on Friday, and two Palestinian protesters were killed in clashes with Israeli forces along the enclave’s border.
The strikes were a response to gunfire from southern Gaza that wounded two Israeli soldiers, the Israeli military said.
Hamas, the Islamist group that rules the Palestinian enclave, said two members of its armed wing had been killed and three wounded when Israel bombed one of its positions in central Gaza.
Later on Friday, two Palestinians shot by Israeli troops while taking part in weekly protests along the border died of their wounds, Gaza health officials said.
The Israeli military said some 5,200 Palestinians had amassed along the frontier, but did not immediately provide further comment…
Al Jazeera reported a total of 51 Palestinians were injured in the two Israeli attacks.
Israel Hayom reported Palestinian Islamic Jihad is responsible for the sniper attack Friday that wounded the Israeli soldiers.
…on May 3, the PIJ conducted a sniper attack on Israel Defense Forces soldiers on the Gaza border, during a Hamas-organized border riot. That shooting wounded an Israeli officer and a female soldier. It is that event that triggered the current flare-up. Starting on Saturday, hundreds of rockets and mortars have been fired from Gaza.
Palestinians then launched an ongoing barrage of rockets targeting Israeli civilians Saturday morning sending well over 500 missiles, killing four Israelis while Israel has responded with over one hundred attack on military targets in Gaza, killing a reported 22 Gazans.
A claim that a pregnant Palestinian mother and her infant girl were killed by Israel in the attacks was denied by Israel which said they were killed by an errant Hamas rocket.
