Forget that’s she’s only 29 and the Constitution declares that presidents be at least 35 years old.
Republican pollster Frank Luntz said Tuesday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the only Democrat out there right now who could possibly beat President Trump in 2020.
The key is authenticity,” Luntz told Fox News host Laura Ingraham on her show, “The Ingraham Angle.”
“You want to say what you mean, mean what you say,” Luntz said. “You want to be able to look straight at the camera and be yourself. And at least half of them [the 2020 Democratic hopefuls] are trying to be something that they’re not.”
And there are a lot of 2020 hopefuls now vying for the Democratic nomination — 22 at last count.
In an unusual twist, Ingraham agreed with Luntz about the Democratic socialist known as AOC, the HuffPost reported.
“That’s why AOC does connect — she is herself. And you can disagree with her policies and ideas, but she seems very genuine. And she looks like she’s having fun.”
Said Luntz: “No one is having a better time at politics than Donald Trump and AOC. They should run against each other, even though legally she can’t.”
Luntz isn’t the first one to praise AOC as a “leader.” Liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said in February that “she is the leader. Everybody knows it, everybody feels it,” Moore said. “She’s the leader of this mass movement.”
The head of the Democratic National Committee, Tom Perez, has called her the “future” of the party, and former Secretary of State John Kerry, a failed 2004 presidential candidate, is singing her praises, too.
“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has in fact offered more leadership in one day or in one week than President Trump has in his lifetime on this subject,” Kerry said.
