Proving once again why he is one of the most proactive and effective elected officials in the nation, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just signed legislation sent to him by state lawmakers that will allow for armed teachers on school grounds in the Sunshine State.
The measure was one of several recommendations that came out of a panel authorized after the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

DeSantis’ office announced the signing shortly after 6 p.m. without ceremony or comments about the bill, which was widely backed by House and Senate Republicans and heavily opposed by gun-control activists, Democrats and some students who survived the mass shooting last year at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
As usual, mainstream media outlets like the Tallahassee Democrat fail to recognize that some of the most prominent Parkland families were extremely vocal in their support of the measure, namely Andrew Pollack who lost his daughter Meadow in the shooting. Not surprisingly, others were co-opted by gun control obsessed Democrats who would rather disarm every American citizen than see policies implemented that would make our students safer.
President Donald Trump also supports arming teachers and so did his school safety panel.
