The religion of peace strikes again.
A Muslim man from Germantown, Maryland was charged by the feds in court on Monday after he was accused of plotting to plow over ‘infidels’ at the National Harbor waterfront in Maryland with a stolen U-haul truck.
Rondell Henry, 28, has been charged with interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle — the government filed a motion asking for Henry to be detained pending his trial, arguing he is a flight risk and a danger to the community.
Rondell Henry wanted to carry out a terrorist attack just like the attack on pedestrians on Bastille Day in Nice, France, in 2016. The terrorist attack in Nice killed 86 people (including children) and left over 450 people injured after a Muslim drove a gigantic truck into a crowd of people.
The Justice Department said for two years, Henry harbored “hatred” for anyone who wasn’t Muslim, and he was inspired by watching ISIS beheading videos, ABC reported.
“He was a computer engineer by trade, and knew nothing of explosives or firearms. But he knew how to drive, and he also knew of the terrorist truck attack in Nice, France. So the defendant decided to use what was readily at his disposal and conduct a vehicular attack on a crowd of innocents,” federal prosecutors said in court documents.
“I was just going to keep driving and driving and driving. I wasn’t going to stop,” Henry told authorities, according to a court document filed.
Two weeks ago, Alexandria police were notified that a U-Haul truck had been stolen from a parking garage — Rondell Henry reportedly left his BMW at the garage where he stole the U-Haul.
The next day, the stolen U-Haul was found at the National Harbor in Maryland — surveillance footage showed Rondell Henry driving the stolen U-Haul and he was arrested a few hours later hiding in a boat in the harbor.
Before Henry decided to drive to the Maryland harbor, he drove around Dulles International Airport and almost plowed over “disbelievers” there but he abandoned that idea when he was unable to get past security, the DOJ said.
“We continue to gather evidence, as well as review evidence already obtained as part of this ongoing investigation,” the U.S. Attorney for Maryland, Robert Hur, said in a statement.
