Jones politely responded to Ocasio-Cortez, “Congresswoman, I’m sure the Border Patrol Laredo Sector, would be happy to give you a full briefing on the crisis here on the border. Jones has been reporting from the Laredo sector for several days. He posted a photo of himself wearing a flak vest Thursday morning that drew blue check mockery on Twitter by open border advocacy reporters like NBC’s Jacob Soboroff. Jones repeatedly explained he was told by Border Patrol agents to wear the vest.

I have never once worn a bulletproof vest at the border, nor has CBP ever asked me to — even while on a chase with Border Patrol to apprehend migrants in remote Arizona desert in the middle of the night.

It is a sad state of affairs when the media is joined by a Congresswoman in attacking a reporter for wearing protection while covering the cartel controlled U.S.-Mexico border in the midst of a crisis.
