According to a new report by CBS Chicago, Jussie Smollett was so upset after the racist threatening letter sent to Empire’s studio didn’t get a “bigger reaction,” that he decided to concoct the fake MAGA attack.
“When the letter didn’t get enough attention, he concocted the staged attack,” a source told CBS 2 Investigator Brad Edwards. Other sources corroborated that information.
On January 22nd, Jussie Smollett received a threatening racist letter crafted with letters from magazines. (screenshot below)
The letter, which contained a white substance was mailed to Empire’s Chicago studio. The white powder turned out to be aspirin.
The FBI is still investigating the letter. It is also important to note that investigators took magazines and a book of stamps as evidence from the Nigerian brothers’ apartment.
Jussie Smollett even spoke about this racist letter in an interview last week.
“On the letter, it had a stick figure hanging from a tree with a gun pointing toward it.” It also had “MAGA” Jussie said.

CBS’s Charlie De Mar spoke on the phone exclusively with the Osundairo brothers Monday afternoon. In a joint statement, they said: “We are not racist. We are not homophobic and we are not anti-Trump. We were born and raised in Chicago and are American citizens.”
Jussie Smollett’s hate hoax blew up last Thursday prompting him to hire criminal defense lawyers and a crisis management firm.
Mr. Smollett could get up to three years in prison for filing a false police report in the state of Illinois.
