SPEAKER PELOSI: “I Don’t Care” If Secret Service Said it Could Secure State of the Union Address

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is losing the border security showdown with President Trump and her latest attempt to postpone the State of the Union Address is proof of that.

On Wednesday, Pelosi asked Trump to postpone the State of the Union address in a letter sent to the President, citing security concerns due to the government shutdown and lack of funds to Homeland Security.

Of course this security claim is total nonsense.

Secretary of  the Department of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen confirmed the DHS and Secret Service are fully prepared to support the State of the Union.

In fact, the Secret Service is ready to secure the State of the Union and described it as a “no fail” mission.

But Pelosi told reporters Wednesday night she “doesn’t care” if the Secret Service is prepared to secure the State of the Union address scheduled for January 29.

It is required by Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution that the President “give to the Congress information of the State of the Union, and recommend their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.”

The Democrats are proposing that President Trump submit his State of the Union address in writing rather than give a speech.

POLL: Who Do You Blame For The Government Shutdown – Trump Or The Democrats?

On Thursday morning Senator Rand Paul said said President Trump should move the State of the Union Address to the US Senate — Trump should take Rand Paul’s advice and bring Angel Moms with him so he could give the Democrats a good lashing.
