BREAKING: Five Police Officers Shot in Houston – Three in Serious Condition – 1 of 3 Suspects Dead

Breaking news.

Five police officers were shot Monday afternoon in a residential neighborhood in southeast Houston, Texas, reported KWTX.

The suspect is down according to the city’s mayor, Sylvester Turner.

Houston Police Department said in a tweet that the officers who were struck with gunfire are en route to the hospital.

A tweet from the police union said one of the officers was being transported to the hospital by helicopter.

According to reports, the shootout started when narcotics officers arrived to a home to serve a warrant.

One suspect is dead according to Houston 2 News.

HOUSTON POLICE: HPD responding to a scene at 7800 Harding where officers have been struck with gunfire following an encounter with a suspect. Officers are en route to the hospital. Please avoid the area and yield for emergency vehicles. Further updates will be provided as available.

One suspect is dead and two others are still in the residence.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott released a statement on the Houston Police shooting Monday evening.
