Experts Say that Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s Recusal Was Not Necessary – The Basic Question Behind This Decision Is Still Unanswered

President Trump has repeatedly expressed his frustration in picking Jeff Sessions to be his Attorney General.  The more you look into Sessions’ recusal – the more you know why!

When candidate Donald Trump first began his run for President, no Washington insiders would stand up and support him until a little known Senator from Alabama, Jeff Sessions, did.  The story line was that Sessions was strong on borders and he liked candidate Trump’s stance on illegal immigration and building a wall.

Sessions routinely spoke at Trump rallies and after the 2016 Presidential election, President Trump nominated Sessions to be his AG.  It is rumored that the only position Sessions would take on the Trump team was AG and he seemed a good fit after being a US Attorney, the AG in Alabama and a US Senator for years.

However, after this, things really went wrong – off the charts actually.  Sessions was appointed and approved by the Senate and then almost immediately Sessions recused himself from everything related to the 2016 Presidential campaign.

On Thursday, March 2, 2017 the Department of Justice announced AG Sessions’ recusal:

“During the course of the confirmation proceedings on my nomination to be Attorney General, I advised the Senate Judiciary Committee that ‘[i]f a specific matter arose where I believed my impartiality might reasonably be questioned, I would consult with Department ethics officials regarding the most appropriate way to proceed.’

“During the course of the last several weeks, I have met with the relevant senior career Department officials to discuss whether I should recuse myself from any matters arising from the campaigns for President of the United States.

“Having concluded those meetings today, I have decided to recuse myself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States.

But based on what we currently know, Sessions never should have recused himself.  Gregg Jarrett from FOX News explains:

I explained this in my book “The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump.” As I wrote, Sessions misread or misinterpreted the Code of Federal Regulations (28 C.F.R. 45.2) when he testified before Congress that he was “required” to recuse himself.

In fact – and this is critically important – the attorney general was not required to bow out of the Russia probe.

Sessions was either duped by holdovers from the Obama Justice Department, or simply failed to comprehend the plain meaning of the regulations. If Sessions knew what he was doing, he would have ended the Russia investigation at its outset, saving our nation millions of dollars and the continued national discord the probe has spawned.

People who know Jeff Sessions and who worked with him during the 2016 campaign would say that Sessions is a man of integrity and that is why recused himself.  But day by day this perception becomes less and less tolerable.

Since Sessions recusal, Rod Rosenstein took over the DOJ and has made a mockery of the Department.  He immediately appointed corrupt cop Robert Mueller to run the Trump – Russia witch hunt.  Rosenstein and Mueller are more conflicted than Sessions was.  They were involved in possibly the biggest scandal in US history – Uranium One – the sale of 20% of US uranium to Russia by the Obama Administration and Hillary Clinton.  After this sale the Clintons received more than $140 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation from individuals related to the sale.   Mueller and Rosenstein were in the middle of this mess.

Mueller is also best friends with fired and disgraced Obama FBI Director James Comey.  Rosenstein drafted Comey’s resignation letter and then set up the Mueller investigation to look into it.  Rosenstein also signed off on FISA document to spy on the President after the Mueller investigation was set up.  He also recently was outed for wanting to wear a wire when meeting with President Trump, hoping to frame him in a compromising situation to force his removal from office.

It’s clear that by removing himself from “the campaigns for President of the United States”, Sessions opened the door for ultra-corrupt Rosenstein and Mueller and their gangs to target the President and attempt to have him removed from office by any means necessary.  Sessions also has accomplished nothing of any substance while allowing the Clintons and members of the corrupt Obama Administration to go unchecked.  Facts currently show that crimes were committed by these gangs and yet nothing happens – criminals from the Obama and Clinton teams walk free.  All of this because Sessions recused himself when he had no reason to!

But when we step back we notice that we don’t really know why Sessions recused himself!  Sessions never recused himself because of his actions related to meetings with Russians that we know of.  Although, this has been suspected since day one, Sessions does not say this in his recusal.

When AG Sessions recused himself he said:

Sessions insisted that he had not misled senators during his confirmation hearing and claimed it was “totally false” to suggest he had met with “Russian operatives” to discuss Trump’s election campaign.

“I have now decided to recuse myself,” he said, adding: “I should not be involved in investigating a campaign I had a role in.”

Sessions stated that he shouldn’t have been involved investigating a campaign he had a role in?  He doesn’t specify what that role was!  He basically provides no reason for his recusal.  We really don’t know why Sessions recused himself!

Was Sessions admitting being involved in the campaign or was he insinuating that he was part of Deep State involved in the farcical Trump – Russia investigation?  What exactly did Sessions share with his ethics team?  Did they mislead him or did they offer legitimate advice based on his reasoning for recusal?

Certainly Sessions was involved in the Trump campaign.  The House Intel Committee Report noted that the Former Senator and current AG oversaw the small team of five foreign policy experts for the Trump campaign.  Included in this small group were Carter Page and George Papadopoulos.

Hmmm…. Sessions was involved with oversight of two of the most reported volunteers on the Trump campaign – Page and Papadopoulos?  Many things here don’t add up.

It’s time for Congress to bring in AG Jeff Sessions.  He needs to be treated not only with contempt because of the actions he took since being appointed to AG, he should be interrogated for his actions before and since the election.

Jeff Sessions is not on the up and up.  He’s not genuine. His actions to date show it.  There’s no evidence that he’s holding back and ready to surprise us all with some clandestine legal proceedings aimed at Obama, Clinton and the Deep State.  He’s not showing that he is a man of integrity – if he was he’d have stopped crooks Rosenstein and Mueller long ago.  He’s also not just over his head – for he was a Senator and AG in Alabama in the past.

There is something more with Sessions.  If not, why would he continue to allow America and our President to be pummeled with constant news of an illegal investigation and not do anything?

Jeff Sessions recused himself and he’s refusing to adhere to the promises he made to uphold the constitution.  It’s time to bring him in and find out why?
