Breaking: Murkowski Supports Flake’s Call for One Week Delay on Kavanaugh Vote

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) has told reporters she supports the call by Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) for a one week delay for the Senate floor vote on the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Murkowski is one of the few undecided Republicans, the others being Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Flake, who voted Kavanaugh’s nomination out of the Judiciary Committee contingent on a commitment for the one week delay.

Murkowski’s stance may very well force Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to postpone the vote for a week.

CNN’s David P. Gelles posted a transcript of Murkowski:

“Q: Do you support Sen.Flake’s call for a delay and an FBI investigation? Murkowski: Yes I do. It has to be limited in time and scope. Q: Should it include an investigation into other allegations? Murkowski: I support the FBI having an opportunity to bring some closure to this”
