The Istanbul Governor’s office banned the 16th annual Pride March this year like he did the past four years.
The event at one time attracted over 100,000 people in 2014.
This year 1000 people turned out for the parade.

This year the Turkish police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.

Erdogan’s thugs also brought out the police dogs to break up the gay pride event.
