Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will officially announce his bid for House speaker Thursday at noon from the House floor.
Congressman Jordan previously told Breitbart radio he had plans to throw his hat into the ring and run for House Speaker after Paul Ryan announced he would not seek re-election, but he is officially making the announcement today.

House Freedom Caucus co-founder Jim Jordan will formally announce his campaign for speaker of the House Thursday at noon, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.
TheDCNF confirmed the announcement with two sources with direct knowledge of Jordan’s plans. Thursday’s announcement would be the first time Jordan directly said whether or not he is running.
Jordan has received an onslaught of support from conservative groups and his colleagues in the House Freedom Caucus to run for speaker.
Jordan’s team did not respond for immediate request for comment.
Freedom Caucus member Jim Jordan is a conservative favorite and a huge supporter of the President.
Jordan is a powerful voice for the MAGA movement which is why Deep State law firm Perkins Coie recently targeted him with bogus, decades-old accusations.
