‘OH MY GOD!’ Anguished Cries From Democrats as Kennedy Retirement Announced (Audio)

Audio from inside a Democratic National Committee meeting on Wednesday obtained by Politico’s David Siders shows the anguished cries by Democrats when they hear an announcement that Justice Anthony Kennedy retired from the Supreme Court.

Cries of shock and anguish can be heard, as well as a shouted, “Oh my God!”

One person laments that while the swing-voting Kennedy was not helpful to Democrats in recently decided cases, he was persuadable at times.

The clip concludes with, “This is not good news.”
