Paddock Shot Through Hotel Room Door Injuring Unarmed Security Guard

As previously reported, crazed shooter Stephen Paddock slaughtered over 50 people Sunday night at a Las Vegas country western concert in a mass shooting.
Another 500+ people were injured.

Paddock set up a camera inside of his hotel room to film his shooting rampage. He also set up surveillance in the hallway to keep an eye on law enforcement closing in on him. He caught glimpse of an unarmed security guard prior to the SWAT team reaching the 32nd floor and shot through the door, hitting the man in the leg.

Vegas Police scanner audio was released detailing the terror as it unfolded late Sunday while authorities worked to locate the shooter and help the wounded.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the police scanner caught the moment officers burst into the Vegas shooter’s hotel room on the 32nd floor at the Mandalay Bay hotel. Prior to the SWAT team breaching Paddock’s door, you can hear officers discussing a wounded security guard on the 32nd floor.

The Daily Beast reported that Jesus Campos was the unarmed security guard who approached Paddock’s hotel room:

Jesus Campos had no firearm when he found Stephen Paddock and approached his room on the 32rd floor of Mandalay Bay on Sunday night.

Paddock, who had rigged cameras in the hallway and on the peephole of the door, saw Campos coming and fired through the door, hitting him in the leg, said Dave Hickey, president of the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America. The union represents Campos and hundreds of security guards at Mandalay Bay.

When Campos was hit, he radioed casino dispatch and told him his location — and Paddock’s.

After locating Paddock, officers secured the post with a 4 man team and back-up on the way. Transcribed from the police scanner:

“We just hit on the suspect’s door, I need everybody in that hallway to be aware of it and get back. We need to pop this and see if we can get any type of response from this guy to see if he’s in here or see if he’s actually moved out somewhere else,” said one of the officers.

A female is heard warning of an explosive breach, telling all units to move back.

An officer says “breach, breach, breach,” followed by an explosion.

Liveleak posted audio of the police scanner. At the 18:30 mark you can hear officers say that a security guard is on the 32nd floor with a gunshot wound to the leg:
