VIDEO: More Evidence Facebook Is Targeting Conservative News Outlets

The 2016 election was a change election in many respects.
A popular business tycoon was elected president.
And there was a major shift in the media landscape.

Conservative Americans rejected and tuned out the corrupt mainstream media.
Instead, conservative voters found outlets that produced more honest and unbiased news.

Conservatives shunned traditional media for online news outlets in 2016.

A Columbia Journalism Review study in March found that The Drudge Report, Breitbart, FOX News, The Hill and The Gateway Pundit were the most prominent conservative news outlets during the 2016 election.

The Gateway Pundit was the 4th most influential media source on the right during the 2016 presidential election.

Only Breitbart, The Hill and FOX News were more influential to conservative audiences.

Liberals still trusted old media traditional media outlets for their news.

That explains their tears on November 9th.

The Columbia Journalism Review published an article in March entitled “Study: Breitbart-led Right-wing Media Ecosystem Altered Broader Media Agenda“.

In spite of its flaws, the study shares some revealing facts about last year’s election and how the Gateway Pundit (GWP) helped the President win the election.

While concerns about political and media polarization online are longstanding, our study suggests that polarization was asymmetric. Pro-Clinton audiences were highly attentive to traditional media outlets, which continued to be the most prominent outlets across the public sphere, alongside more left-oriented online sites. But pro-Trump audiences paid the majority of their attention to polarized outlets that have developed recently, many of them only since the 2008 election season.

Attacks on the integrity and professionalism of opposing media were also a central theme of right-wing media. Rather than “fake news” in the sense of wholly fabricated falsities, many of the most-shared stories can more accurately be understood as disinformation: the purposeful construction of true or partly true bits of information into a message that is, at its core, misleading. Over the course of the election, this turned the right-wing media system into an internally coherent, relatively insulated knowledge community, reinforcing the shared worldview of readers and shielding them from journalism that challenged it.

Since this study was published we at The Gateway Pundit have noticed severe declines in our social media traffic.
We will report more on this in the near future.

On Thursday The Federalist reporter Bre Payton went on FOX Business Network to discuss Facebook’s targeting of conservative websites.

Bre says several conservative news websites are being targeted by Facebook this year.

Since the beginning of the year Facebook has been targeting conservative outlets.
There ought to be congressional hearings on these allegations.
