Al Sharpton’s Daughter Celebrates Birthday By Attacking Cab Driver – Is Quickly Arrested

Reverend Al Sharpton’s daughter, Ashley Sharpton, 30, ended her birthday celebration in custody Saturday after she attacked a cab driver in Midtown, according to police.

Sharpton is currently facing charges of petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after allegedly grabbing the keys from the cab driver. She then pushed and punched the cabbie when he asked for Sharpton to give the keys back to him.

Rev. Sharpton commented on the matter, stating:

“She told me it didn’t happen the way they said it happened but I can’t speak for a thirty-year-old woman.”

Sharpton and her three friends piled into a cab at 1:00AM and each told the cab driver a different destination. The driver – obviously confused – stopped the car and waited for the four passengers to figure out their destination. Sharpton, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, “snatched his keys from the ignition, according to cops . . . She jumped out of the car and threw the keys – which the cabbie didn’t see,” according to the New York Daily News.

The cab driver approached her and she began pushing an shoving him. Police found her two hours later at W. 46th Street and took her into custody.
