VP Mike Pence: We Will See ‘American Boots on the Face of Mars’ (VIDEO)

Vice President Mike Pence said while touring the Kennedy Space Center in Florida Thursday, that the U.S. would put humans on Mars, echoing sentiments shared by JFK regarding the moon.

While at Cape Canaveral, Pence commented:

“Here the Hubble Space Telescope, the New Horizons, and so many other technological wonders lifted off the Earth to give us a glimpse of our fellow planets, the distant stars, and the infinite galaxies that are a window into our very past.”

Always poetic, Pence continued:

“And here, from this bridge to space, our nation will return to the moon, and we will put American boots on the face of Mars.”

The Vice President’s proclamation was a powerful and stirring one. In that same breath, Pence followed up on President Trump’s reinstating of the now 25 year dormant National Space Council. Pence said of the Council, “It will be my great honor, as Vice President of the United States, to serve as its chair.”
