Barack Obama, the man who bashed President Trump’s “temperament” and “core values” once upon a time DREAMED of becoming just like his idol – billionaire businessman Donald Trump.
New information coming out about a never-published book Obama wrote back during his Harvard Law School days with a classmate reveals his hopes of becoming just like The Donald. Obama especially idolized the things that President Trump stood for. Portions of this book will come out with the soon-to-be-published Obama biography “Rising Star”.
Excerpt from Obama’s biography via the Washington Post:
Americans have a “continuing normative commitment to the ideals of individual freedom and mobility . . . The depth of this commitment may be summarily dismissed as the unfounded optimism of the average American – I may not be Donald Trump now, but just you wait; if I don’t make it, my children will.”
Obama wrote the book, which was to be titled “Transformative Politics” or “Promises of Democracy: Hopeful Critiques of American Ideology”, with classmate Rob Fisher during Obama’s time at Harvard from ’88-’91.
Two decades and some change later and Obama found himself calling out now-President Trump stating that he doesn’t feel Trump’s traits are suitable for the White House.
After Trump launched a fruitless campaign questioning whether Obama was born in the U.S., Obama, as president, viciously needled Trump during a White House Correspondents Dinner speech in 2011 – with Trump looking on stoically.
Obama in October derided Trump as “insecure enough that he pumps himself up by putting others down – not a character trait that I would advise in the Oval Office.” The ex-president has also criticized his successor via a spokesperson since leaving office.
Funny how these things happen. MAGA.
