Thank you, come again: Democrats are thwarted by the House but are gluttons for rejection . . .
Tuesday, House Republicans thwarted further attempts by ravenous Democrats who keep on in their hunt to obtain President Trump’s tax returns from the IRS, the Daily Mail via AP reports:
The House stuck to a mainly party-line vote of 228-190 blocking efforts by Democrats. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., a Democrat from New Jersey, introduced House Resolution 186 on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017, the Resolution’s purpose being an inquiry that would direct the Secretary of the Treasury to provide both tax returns and “other specified financial information of President Donald Trump”.
The AP quoted a Representative who was vocal in his opposition to the assault by Democrats on President Trump’s privacy:
“To my knowledge, in our committee’s entire history, no single individual has ever been targeted in such a manner,” said Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, chairman of the committee. “Civil liberties and privacy are still rights worth protecting, and I intend to protect them.”
Meanwhile “liberal” politicians ask what the President is “hiding”.
Final thoughts from the AP reflected on Pascrell’s hopes in revealing Trump’s taxes:
Democrats tried to make Trump’s taxes an issue during the presidential election, questioning his wealth and whether he donates generously to charity, as he claims.
After the election, the head of the Office of Government Ethics scolded Trump for not divesting from his business, saying that’s the only way to avoid conflicts of interest.
Pascrell said Trump’s returns would shed light on any potential conflicts.
Trump’s tax returns would reveal a trove of information about his business dealings and his sources of income. They wouldn’t show his overall net worth. But they would show his annual income and the sources of some of it.
This is not the last we will hear from the Democrats looking for something, anything in an attempt to attack or undermine President Trump. For now, take the loss, Democrats.
