Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump held a town hall meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire on Thursday evening. The first question was from a man who is against Muslims and accused President Barack Obama of being a Muslim and not an American.
Unlike John McCain in 2008 who reproved voters who expressed fears of an Obama presidency and doubts about his background, Trump nervously laughed about, and then ignored the points raised in the man’s question by saying there are a lot of things that need looking into.
Questioner: “…from White Plains, amen, okay…We have a problem in this country called ‘Muslim’. We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American–birth certificate.”
Trump, laughed nervously and sarcastically said, “We need this question?…This first question.”
Questioner: “But anyway, we have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question, when can we get rid of them?”
Trump: “We’re gonna be looking at a lot of different things. And you know a lot of people are saying that. And a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there. We’re gonna be looking at that and plenty of other things.”
