Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stood in the way last night of the US Senate extending the fiercely contested Patriot Act.
Americans are now free to chat without NSA tracking–
On Monday Senator Paul spoke with America’s Newsroom about ending the illegal NSA data collections.
I want more data collection of terrorists. I also want less data collection of innocent Americans… This is a big rebuke to the president. The president has been committing an illegal program. The court told him to stop. He didn’t stop. And, now Congress is going to tell the president, this must end. This is a big victory for the American people… This is a big rebuke for the president and the president is now going to have to obey the law… Everybody who is objective who has looked at it has said no episode of terrrorism has been prevented. No case has been cracked…
