Democratic Campaign Manager Brian Young is accused of sending former boss Monica Arias Miranda an obscene email. Miranda, a Democrat, previously ran for the Senate seat in the 46th District in Western Albany but lost.
Police have charged Young with aggravated harassment.

Monica Arias Miranda, the former legislative aide who staged an unsuccessful 2012 run for the Senate seat that ultimately went to Cecilia Tkaczyk, expressed “disgust” after the State Police charged her former campaign manager with aggravated harassment related to a racist and otherwise obscene message sent to her.
Brian Young, who was given an appearance ticket on Friday night, denied the charge as “absolutely untrue.” Young believes the IP address on the message in question, which he acknowledged was linked to his home address, is the result of a digital forgery.
Young, another former legislative aide, currently runs Compound Strategies. He’s scheduled to appear Jan. 15 in Town of Duanesburg Court on the charge, a misdemeanor.
The charge is a nasty twist after months of legal wrangling between Miranda and Young over his salary for services rendered to her campaign. Young put in several weeks of work, but early last year Miranda sued him to recover payments already made, claiming that Young had failed to perform adequately. He counter-sued for what he claims as weeks of unpaid labor.
“I believe this is in retaliation to the lawsuit,” Young said of the police complaint.
Miranda filed a complaint several weeks ago and handed over the offensive communication, which was sent through her campaign website, that called her “a racist fraud [c-word].” According to a copy provided by Miranda, the sender gave the bogus e-mail address “[email protected].”
“You are nothing but a worthless 3rd world non american piece of garbage,” the message continues. ” … Do us all a favor. Take your spic family and that unborn welfare addict in your gut and go the [expletive] back to mexico!”
