Orthodox Prelates Join Catholic Bishops to Protest Obama’s Assault on Religious Freedom

80% of Catholic bishops have already issued statements in their dioceses against Obama’s assault on religious freedom.

This cartoon by Michael Ramirez is being forwarded around a lot this weekend.

Of the 183 Catholic dioceses in the United States who have a bishop currently serving as its head, 155 of them have issued statements against the Obama Administration’s HHS mandate forcing religious organizations to violate church tenets and provide abortion drugs, birth control and sterilizations to employees in their health care plans. According to Catholic Vote.org 80% of bishops who head dioceses have spoken out against the Obama/HHS mandate.

Also from Catholic Vote – The Assembly of Orthodox Bishops in North America just issued a formal statement of protest against the HHS mandate in which the Assembly, representing all 53 Orthodox bishops in North America, references their complete agreement with the statements of the USCCB.”
