Energy Expert Tim Sampson: Less Than 1/1000th of 1% of Oil Is Spilled Off US Shores

Tim Sampson, an energy expert with American Petroleum Institute, gave a terrific interview on the oil and gas industry at the OTC Conference in Houston, Texas.
Here Tim discussed a few little known facts about the oil and gas industry:

Tim discussed several topics including:

–Less Than 1/1000th of 1% of oil production is spilled off US waters- outer continental shelf
— 100 times more oil is spilled from natural seaps than from oil and gas production
–It would take thousands of windmills to produce the energy of just one oil and gas production platform in the Gulf of Mexico
–During the hurricanes that devastated the Gulf coast there was no oil significant spillage from the oil rigs and platforms according to the US Coast Guard.
