3,000 students at a Pakistani madrassa convention declare jihad against the US, their allies, Afghan forces and Pervez Musharraf.
The Daily Times reported:

A former MNA on Sunday urged jihad against foreign forces in Afghanistan and their backers in Pakistan during a rally marking the first year anniversary of the military operation against Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa.

We must wage jihad against American, NATO forces (in Afghanistan) and their cohorts in Pakistan, who are part of the conspiracy against Muslims and our country,” Shah Abdul Aziz said at the Shuhda-e-Lal Masjid Conference that was attended by over 3,000 madrassa students.

Punishment: Holding President Pervez Musharraf responsible for a military operation against Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa, speakers at the conference accused Musharraf of ordering the mosque crackdown at America’s bidding and demanded that the president be punished for ordering the military operation. They also alleged that Musharraf was behind the failure of talks between the government and Lal Masjid clerics that had resulted in the deaths of several dozen students.

Restart classes: The participants of the conference, which included around two-dozen veiled women, announced that they would pitch tents on the land where Jamia Hafsa, a girls’ madrassa, had once stood and would restart classes there today (Monday).

Wafaqul Madaris General Secretary Hanif Jalandri said that the madrassa students would stage a lengthy protest if the government did not heed their demands. He said that the students and teachers of all 12,000 madrassas in the country had shown solidarity with those killed in the Lal Masjid operation.

And, we thought the teacher’s union here in the US was disfunctional!
