Obama: Evil Oil Companies Are Funding "Both Sides" In War on Terror! (Video)

It’s a War For Oil Stupid!

Barack Obama slipped in a weird “War for Oil” talking point tonight in his North Carolina speech.

Barack Obama sees evil oil companies funding both sides in the War on Terror!
Both sides???
So this is a “war for oil” after all?
Here’s the video:
(54 seconds)

Here is the transcript from Obama’s loony energy plan:

“The man I met in Pennsylvania who lost his job but can’t even afford the gas to drive around and look for a new one. He can’t afford four more years of an energy policy written by the oil companies and for the oil companies; a policy that is not only keeping gas at record prices but funding both sides of the war on terror and destroying our planet… He needs us to take a permanent holiday from our addiction for oil by making automakers raise their fuel standards, corporations pay for their pollution and oil companies invest their record profits in a clean energy future. That’s the change we need.”

It makes you wonder who wrote the speech… Michelle Obama?

Think of that line for a second.
Barack believes that our oil policy is funding both sides in the war on terror?
Is he saying that US companies who supply the US with cheap oil are being funded by the war? Or, does he mean US defense companies are getting rich by providing protection for our country and our military?
What is he really saying?
That was a very strange line for a man who wants to be president.
It sounds like something Cindy Sheehan would say.

UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal adds:

“Destroying our planet”? Someone’s been watching too much sci-fi. But what’s disturbing about this quote is the line about “funding both sides of the war on terror.” Of course we’re all unhappy that regimes like those in Saudi Arabia and Iran (but no longer Iraq, thanks to Congress and President Bush) are able to use oil revenues to fund terrorism.

But Obama finds fault with funding both sides–that is, he finds fault with funding our side. If Obama wants to stake out a position of neutrality in wartime, he should run for president of Switzerland, not America.
