Soros Front Group Releases First McCain Attack Ad

The Campaign To Defend America, a new pro-Democratic 501(c)(4) issue-advocacy group, funded by The Fund For America, a Democratic 527 group came out with their first anti-McCain ad today.

The Fund for America is led by former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta and has $100 million in the bank to fund its attacks on McCain and Republicans. Podesta is also a the President of the Center for American Progress, a progressive think tank in Washington, D.C. that received its funding from George Soros.

Mary Katharine Ham noted that the advocacy group is funding the historically impoverished demographic of… Hollywood executives. First Tuesday Media, a political production company, received funding from the group and is being paid to produce the attack ads.

Here is today’s first anti-McCain ad, via TPM:

With $100 million in the bank, it looks like this is the first of many attacks on Senator McCain.

Karl at Protein Wisdom today said:

“I also suspect that the DNC has already collected every photo and snippet of footage of the two together to brand McCain as BushCo III.”

It looks like Karl would be correct on that.
The democratic plan is clear– smear McCain as much as the Democratic machine (media, Hollywood, Congress) did Bush until he starts to smell like dead fish.
If McCain really does take after Bush and does not fight back– It just might work.

Lonewacko has more on those behind this attack ad including George Soros and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
