Al Zawahiri Urges Democrats To Hurry Up!

“The people chose you due to your opposition to Bush’s policy in Iraq, but it appears that you are marching with him to the same abyss.”

#2 is upset with democrats…
Al Zawahiri wants action and he wants it now!

Zawahiri released his year in review tape “Tremendous Lessons and Events in the Year 1427 AH”, the fourth tape he released so far this year. (SITE)

It looks like John Howard has been vindicated…
(That didn’t take long.)
The latest tape lays to rest any doubts that Al Qaeda does prefers democrats over Republicans as John Howard had stated just two days ago.

The AP reports on the latest demands on democrats leading Congress:

On the tape, al-Zawahri said recent congressional elections in the United States that elected a majority of Democrats would change nothing.

“The people chose you due to your opposition to Bush’s policy in Iraq, but it appears that you are marching with him to the same abyss,” al-Zawahri told the Democrats according to the transcript.

It was the forth message by Osama bin Laden’s deputy since the beginning of the year. The last was on Jan. 22, when he mocked President Bush’s plan to send an additional 21,000 troops to Iraq.

Al-Zawahri called what he described as Bush’ failure in Iraq and the growing Taliban resistance in Afghanistan the “most important events” of the past year. He also said that “the people cooperating with the United States in Afghanistan and in Iraq would be abandoned by the Americans once they fail, the same way they did in Vietnam.”

Al Zawahiri is hoping that democrats keep this in mind as they debate their Iraqi withdrawal plan today in Congress.

SITE has the translation of the latest tape:

Titled: “Tremendous Lessons and Events in the Year 1427 AH”, the video contains English subtitles to Zawahiri’s speech, a static image on him shown in the top left corner of the screen. Primary among the events of the past year in the Islamic calendar, according to Zawahiri, is U.S. President George W. Bush allegedly admitting to failure in Iraq and an escalating threat from the Taliban in Afghanistan. As the Democrats failed to reverse U.S. foreign policy, and the American and British citizens reelected their heads of state, Bush and Tony Blair, to lead them into the “abyss”, Zawahiri observes that Western aggression will continue upon Islam until the Mujahideen are victorious.

On the subject of America, Zawahiri claims Bush to be an “alcoholic”, addicted to drinking, lying, and gambling, using these terms as metaphors for his pursuits in the Middle East.

Returning to the ideal of Muslim unity, Zawahiri affirms that he and al-Qaeda have pledged loyalty to the Emir of the Believers, Mullah Muhammad Omar, and encourages all Mujahideen to align themselves beneath one banner.

He sends greetings to the “fledging” Islamic State of Iraq and members of its leadership, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, and the Mujahideen in both Algeria and Somalia.

Bush a drunk Where have we heard that before?

One question: Is he getting his talking points from the DNC?
