Senator Frist Demands Claire McCaskill Apologize to Bush!

Update: The St. Louis Post Dispatch (shockingly) has the latest developments- the first media outlet to mention McCaskill’s outrageous “dead blacks on rooftops” remarks. This may be news to Claire, but there was no list ever made of “poor blacks” who died “on rooftops” during Katrina.
Senator Elizabeth Dole is now speaking out:

National Republicans are condemning state Auditor Claire McCaskill’s comment to a group of city Democratic elected officials this week that “George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black.”

McCaskill’s observation was posted on a local St. Louis blog run by a Democratic activist.

“These outrageous comments have no place in public discourse,” said U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., Dole, chairwoman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Allman and Smash at 97.1 FM reported this news Thursday morning on Claire McCaskill’s despicable attacks on President Bush at a democratic meeting in St. Louis:

“George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black.”

Claire McCaskill
Missouri Democratic Senatorial Candidate
September 6, 2006

On Thursday, Senator Majority Leader Bill First spoke out against Claire’s deranged attacks on the president!

HERE is the YouTube report by PubDef, a democratic activist, from that meeting.

Jim Addison from Wizbang writes that Senate Majority Leader Frist is outraged at McCaskill’s unconscionable attacks on the president:

On this Tuesday, Senator Jim Talent’s Democrat opponent Claire McCaskill reportedly told a group of St. Louis area Democrat officials, “George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black.”

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, there were failures at all levels of our government. I saw these failures with my own eyes as I assisted under-staffed, under-equipped medical personnel making heroic efforts to save lives at the New Orleans International Airport.

But it is totally unconscionable to suggest that the Coast Guard helicopter crews who worked hours long past regulation were intentionally leaving poor, black Americans to die on their rooftops … or that our National Guardsmen were discriminating against poor, black Americans as they struggled to deliver life-saving supplies and coordinate evacuation efforts ….or that President Bush didn’t do everything within his power to help the citizens of New Orleans regardless of class or color.

Claire McCaskill should apologize immediately to President Bush and the members of the rescue effort that she slurred. This baseless attack demonstrates perfectly why Mrs. McCaskill is unfit to serve Missouri in the United States Senate.

RedState wonders if Claire McCaskill is on drugs?
No… but local news did carry this report.

Outside the Beltway notices how silent the media is on these ‘Bush performing genocide’ remarks by McCaskill.

It looks like democratic Senator Robert Menendez in New Jersey is having worse problems than Claire McCaskill at the moment.
And… Washington Democratic Senator Cantwell provided millions of dollars in federal spending to clients of a lobbyist that also serves as an advisor on her campaign.
