Clinton Fantasy Unraveling

The news from the last few days has not been kind to the Clintons. Bill may be saying one thing, but the facts from the Clinton years are telling the real story. And yet, through it all, there are those still willing to make the “Billgramage” to Hope, Arkansas.

VIDEO OF LT. COLONEL ANTHONY SHAFFER ON CBS EARLY SHOW HERE

The MSM is beginning to look at the “Able Danger” story. The CBS Early Show even interviewed Lt. Col. Shaffer.

Veteran Army intelligence officer, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, told The Early Show that lawyers stopped him from sharing intelligence about a U.S. al Qaeda cell with the FBI in 2000.

So how far will the MSM go in delving into the story? The New York Times wrote a piece this morning on “Able Danger”.

The Anchoress, fighting dyslexia or working with dyslexia, whatever, has a clear read on the news.

Captain Ed says this does not look good for the 9-11 Commission. “The Commission owes us an explanation for why two different sources with the same information about Mohammed Atta’s identification got ignored by the panel. Why didn’t the Commission follow up on this? Were they so married to the Atta timeline that they could not bear to rethink it?”

Powerline also has more on “The White Memo”, another piece of overlooked information during the Clinton years at the White House.

Then-Manhattan U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White wrote the memo as she pleaded in vain with Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick to tear down the wall between intelligence and prosecutors, a wall that went beyond legal requirements.

The White memos are directed specifically toward Jamie Gorelick’s “wall,” which was set up with particular reference to White’s criminal prosecutions. Gorelick’s memo was addressed to White, along with Louis Freeh of the FBI and one or two others. Gorelick’s memo is limited in scope; it limits the prosecutors’ ability to get information from the FBI’s counterintelligence division.

And, to top of the weekly news we hear that the Clinton White House was warned by the State Department that Osama bin Laden’s move to Afghanistan would give him an even more dangerous haven as he sought to expand radical Islam “well beyond the Middle East.”

I don’t see this investigation gaining much steam with the mainstream media and “not” because it is “not” big news. It doesn’t take a 9-11 Panel to see that this leads back to major intelligence failures during the Clinton years. The idea of that would be too much for the liberal democrat media to take… and would cut down on tourism to Hope, Arkansas. I look for this news to get swept under the rug like cigar ashes (I just had to go there!) if the MSM can help it.
