Death to Saddam

With each One who lined up in Fallujah, Mosul, Sadr City.

Each.

One of millions.

Each.

Waiting outside the polls.

Standing outside.

Standing vulnerable.

Not with fear.

Standing vulnerable.

Not – with – fear.

Standing with Each other.

Waiting to vote.

Waiting outside.

Vulnerable to attack.

Waiting to vote.

Waiting without a weapon.

only a Voice.

Vulnerable to attack.

Waiting to vote.

Waiting for Father.

Father who never came home.

Waiting to vote.

Waiting for Mother.

Mother who cries at night for her missing son.

Waiting to vote.

Waiting for the lover.

The lover you lost but cannot forget.

The One with the light in their eyes.

The One who you miss so much.

Wating to vote.

Waiting for the sunrise.

Waiting for family.

For neighbors.

Knowing when.

Opening the door.

No fear.

No fear.

Waiting to vote.

Saddam died today.

Al Zarqawi.

Not today.

Not afraid.

Not alone.

Waiting to vote.
