DEVELOPING: Kevin McCarthy Huddles with Detractors in Closed-Door Meeting After Losing 6th Speaker Vote

The US House voted for Speaker for the 6th time Wednesday afternoon.

McCarthy lost the 6th vote.

20 GOP lawmakers are not budging.

This was the first time in 100 years that Speakership was not decided in the first vote.

Trump endorsed McCarthy and called for the Republican caucus to come together and support the California lawmaker.

However, McCarthy just keeps losing.

The House adjourned until 8 pm after McCarthy lost the sixth speaker vote.

After two days of brutal losses, McCarthy is now huddling with his detractors in a closed-door meeting, according to Punchbowl News.

It is unclear who exactly is in the closed-door meeting.

McCarthy entered a meeting through a back door with several of his high-profile GOP detractors, according to Punchbowl News reporters.
