Two Florida Women Arrested For Stealing Christmas Presents Off of Mail Truck

Two Florida women were arrested on Friday for allegedly stealing Christmas gifts off the back of a mail truck in Key Biscayne.

Jassalyn Marie Moss, 25, and Anyel Gutierrez, 23, are accused of following around a mail truck and stealing packages as they stopped.

A witness saw the duo opening the packages behind a church and notified the police.

Key Biscayne Police Chief Frank Sousa told Local 10 News that the women were found with “children’s toys, handbags, clothing by various designers and an iPad case” when they were apprehended.

“They made a statement that they were ‘down on the luck’ and we understand that but the moral of the story is that you don’t take advantage when your down,” Sousa said.

Souza added that criminals should think twice before stealing in his district.

“If you think you are going to come here and commit a crime you are going to get apprehended very quickly. This isn’t the place to commit a crime,” Souza said.

The Key Biscayne Police are now going through the packages and trying to get the items to their owners.
