Unpopular Meghan Markle Makes Awkward Appearances In London Honoring Queen Elizabeth II

Meghan Markle remains an unpopular figure in the U.K.  As the Royal family gathered by the dying Queen’s beside in Scotland, Markle was noticeably absent. It was reported that Prince Charles (now King Charles III) asked Harry not to bring his wife.

According to Britain’s News Channel:

Now, reports suggest that the monarch’s eldest son – King Charles III – phoned Harry to urge him against bringing his wife. Harry is said to have been at Frogmore Cottage when he received the call.

And, according to The Sun: “Charles told Harry that it wasn’t right or appropriate for Meghan to be in Balmoral at such a deeply sad time.

“It was pointed out to him that Kate was not going and that the numbers really should be limited to the very closest family.

“Charles made it very, very clear Meghan would not be welcome.”

A statement from Meghan and Harry’s team initially read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to Scotland.”

Around half an hour later, a spokesman “clarified” that “only the Duke was travelling at the moment”.

It comes as senior ministers will attend the Accession Council at St James’s Palace where King Charles will be formally proclaimed sovereign.

The tension surrounding Meghan and Harry’s rejection of, and departure from, the Royal Family along with their move to the U.S. has put a strain on the family dynamics.  In May, the Queen banned Harry and Meghan (along with the Queen’s creepy son Andrew) from appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony for her Platinum Jubilee Celebration next month after ‘careful consideration,’ the Palace revealed.

According to the statement from Buckingham Palace, the Queen limits the balcony to “working royals” who are currently serving official royal duties along with their children.

During the mourning of the Queen, Prince William and Harry were, however,  seen together greeting mourners and viewing the growing collection of flowers, notes and trinkets honoring the Queen.

The British media and Royal watchers remain unswayed regarding Meghan.
