Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC Replacement Losing Big In The Ratings

Left-wing media is losing.

Alex Wagner, MSNBC’s replacement host for Rachel Maddow, has gotten 38% fewer viewers than Rachel Maddow in her first two weeks in the time slot.

Wagner has an average of 1.6 million viewers — while Maddow continues to bring in 2.6 million on days she is the host.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Rachel Maddow’s replacement host, Alex Wagner, garnered 38% fewer viewers in her first two weeks of taking over Maddow’s time slot from Tuesday to Friday.

Wagner has hosted MSNBC’s 9 p.m. hour slot since Aug. 16, with an average of 1.6 million viewers. Meanwhile, Maddow had an average of 2.6 million on Monday nights, for which she remains the host. Two million viewers tuned in on Wagner’s premiere night, making it the most-watched show that day, to see the new host fumble after a teleprompter problem. Even those numbers were 27% less than Maddow’s show the night before.

The show reported 183,000 viewers in the 25-50 demographic during the debut, which was still lower than Maddow’s 230,000 views. By Aug. 26, Wagner’s viewership in the key demographic had dropped 40% to 112,000.

Wagner’s debut show was filled with technical issues.

The Western Journal reported:

Wagner had problems with her debut show, which included audio issues and ties when she was not in sync with the images viewers were seeing.

Wagner tossed off the incidents as “technical gremlins.”

The show got beat by Sean Hannity’s show “Hannity” — which got 2.8 million viewers.

Wagner had previously hosted her own show — but it was canceled in 2015.
