Former FDNY Fire Captain Brendan Fogarty, who lost his job due to unlawful mandates, spoke out strongly against the Covid mandates in New York during a council meeting on Friday.
Brendan Fogarty spent twenty years working for the New York City Fire Department, rising through the ranks to become a captain.
“I was a captain for the New York City Fire Department. I served for 20 years, and I went from being essential to being disposable from the mandates. And my religious exemption was denied. And I received those threats of termination, and I retired. I would love to go back to my job,” Fogarty said.
“I gave my best years to this city, 20 years from 21 to 41, and then they take it away. At the peak of my earning career, I made it to captain. I went through that process. You should be ashamed of yourselves,” Fogarty lamented.
“We’re going to be on the right side of history. The people who are against us are against civil rights and religious freedom… Eric Adams is going to be on the wrong side of history.”
“The same people who thought slavery was okay. The same people who thought segregation was okay. You segregated us!” an infuriated Fogarty exclaimed.
“I was allowed to work in this city, but I wasn’t allowed to eat in a restaurant in this city. I was allowed to work through the pandemic, but I wasn’t allowed to eat in a restaurant. I could wear the uniform, and go to a burning building, but not eat here. What’s wrong with you people? Trust the science. You guys are f*cked up!” Fogarty screamed angrily.
After he finished speaking, there were cheers from the crowd.

Earlier this year, a religious-freedom group initiated a class-action lawsuit in a last-minute effort to save the jobs of thousands of city employees who were scheduled to be terminated.
“The suit was filed by New Yorkers for Religious Liberty on behalf of 13 named city workers — including FDNY Capt. Brendan Fogarty — who face “immense pressure” to choose between their faith and their jobs, court papers say,” New York Post reported.
“The vaccines may blunt the severity of the disease, but the evidence does not support an assumption that they stop infection with and transmission of [COVID] to others.”
It seeks a trial by jury to get unspecified damages, fees, and “reinstatement” of jobs, the outlet added.
It can be recalled that New York City Mayor Eric Adams exempted athletes and performers from his vaccine mandate, as the Gateway Pundit reported.
Adams argued that his decision to exempt athletes and performers was to put them on a “level playing field.”
“This is about putting New York City based performers on a level playing field,” he said. “Hometown players had an unfair disadvantage.”
On Friday, another law enforcement officer took the stand and said that he had chosen to be terminated rather than receive the vaccine.
