Three Never-Trumpers Who Voted to Impeach Trump Face Primary Voters Today in Washington State and Michigan

Three of the Never-Trump RINOs who voted to impeach President Donald Trump are up for reelection today in Republican primaries in Washington state and Michigan.

Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse of Washington and Peter Meijer of Michigan all face Republican challengers today in their state’s primary elections.

Three anti-Trump RINOs who voted to impeach already announced they will not seek reelection.

RINO Rep. John Katko (R-NY) announced in January he will not seek reelection.

Katko was one of ten Republicans to vote to impeach President Trump over ginned-up charges related to the January 6 protests.
Katko followed Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Anthony Gonzalez from Ohio in calling it quits after their impeachment vote in 2021.

CNN reported:

Rep. John Katko of New York, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump, announced Friday he will not seek reelection.

In his announcement, Katko cited wanting to be more present with his family as part of the reason for his decision.

“That’s why, after 32 years of public service, I have decided not to seek re-election to Congress, so that I can enjoy my family and life in a fuller and more present way,” Katko said.

Katko is the third GOP impeachment backer to call it quits, following in the footsteps of Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio. Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan has yet to make an official announcement about his reelection plans.

President Trump cheered the news at the time.

Now three more face the voters on Tuesday.
The Daily Mail reported:

Three House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump could see the end of their political careers on Tuesday evening, as Republican primary voters in Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Washington head to the polls.

Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse of Washington and Peter Meijer of Michigan are all facing tough challenges from Trump-backed primary opponents.

They’re just three of the high-profile races that will test the former president’s endorsement strength ahead of the November midterm elections…

…In Washington’s Third Congressional District, Beutler is facing Trump-endorsed retired Green Beret Joe Kent, who believes the former president’s election fraud claims and has claimed ‘deep state’ operatives were behind the violence on January 6.

Beutler, who was elected in 2010, is also up against Heidi St. John, a Christian podcaster competing with Kent for the district’s most conservative voters.

In the neighboring deep-red Fourth Congressional District, Newhouse faces seven primary challengers – including Trump-backed military veteran and former police chief Loren Culp.
