Never let a crisis go to waste.

Update: The Biden Regime declared monkeypox a public health emergency on Thursday.

“We are prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus and we urge every American to take monkeypox seriously,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said.

The emergency declaration will give the Biden Regime the ability to *fund* its effort to fight the virus.

More than 6,000 cases of monkeypox have been reported in the Unite States since May 18.

Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra is expected to make the emergency declaration, the Post reported.

The Washington Post reported:

The Biden administration plans to declare the monkeypox outbreak a public health emergency as soon as Thursday in an effort to galvanize awareness and unlock additional flexibility and funding to fight the virus’s spread.

The declaration would come from Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, who is expected to discuss the plan at an afternoon briefing, said two officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment. The health secretary is planning a second declaration empowering federal officials to expedite medical countermeasures, such as potential treatments and vaccines, without going through full-fledged federal reviews. That would also allow for greater flexibility in how the current supply of vaccines is administered, the officials said.

More than 6,600 cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in the United States since May 18 with the vast majority occurring among men who have sex with men — a total that has doubled about every 8 days, but which experts believe is a significant undercount. Officials have also reported at least five cases of monkeypox in children, who are believed to have gotten infected through household transmission.

Per CDC, monkeypox is transmitted by symptomatic individuals through close contact with lesions, bodily fluids, or respiratory secretions and objects that have had contact with lesion crusts or bodily fluids, face-to-face contact, or during intimate physical contact, such as kissing, cuddling, or sex.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Monday declared a monkeypox state of emergency.

Adams’ emergency declaration comes after Governor Hochul issued a state of emergency for the state of New York.

NYC currently makes up 25% of the US’s monkeypox cases.

San Francisco last Thursday also declared a state of emergency over monkeypox.

The mayor of San Francisco declared a state of emergency after the city reported 261 cases of monkeypox.

The kink and fetish festival for gay men dubbed “Up Your Alley” still pressed on this weekend despite monkeypox spreading like wildfire in the gay community in San Francisco.

California Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday declared a state of emergency over monkeypox.

“As part of the state’s ongoing response to the monkeypox outbreak, Governor Gavin Newsom today declared a State of Emergency to bolster the state’s vaccination efforts. The proclamation supports the work underway by the California Department of Public Health and others in the administration to coordinate a whole-of-government response to monkeypox, seek additional vaccines and lead outreach and education efforts on accessing vaccines and treatment.” the Office of Governor Newsom announced on Monday.
