UPDATE: GOP Rep. Jackie Walorski Killed in Head-On Collision — Car Crossed Center Line and Hit Walorski — Top Aides Who Were Also Killed in Crash Identified

Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) was killed today in a car crash in Indiana. Two of her aides were also killed.

Rep. Walorski was 58-years-old.

The two aides were also identified

Her district director Zachery Potts, 27, and her Communications Director Emma Thomson, 28 — also died as a result of their injuries.

The sole passenger of the other car involved in the crash also was killed.

The driver crossed the center line and crashed into Walorski at around 12:30 PM Central.

Walorski has served in Congress since 2013.

GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy weighed in on the horrific news today.

CBS News reported:

Sheriff Jeff Siegel said Walorski, 58, was in a SUV traveling southbound when it was hit head-on by another car just after 12:30 p.m. All three occupants in one of the cars — Walorski, her district director Zachery Potts, 27, and communications director Emma Thomson, 28 — died as a result of their injuries.

The sole passenger of the other car involved in the crash, which was traveling northbound, also was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Siegel.

An investigation by the Elkhart County Coroner’s Office and sheriff’s office is underway.
