Philly Mayor Blames Supreme Court After Two Police Officers Shot at 4th of July Concert (Video)

Last night there were reports of an active shooter in Philadelphia at the city’s annual 4th of July fireworks display.

The scene on Ben Franklin Parkway was chaotic as bystanders were heard screaming and running for their lives.

One user on Twitter reported that two officers had been shot on the scene.

The Philadelphia Mayor weighed in on the shootings and blamed the Supreme Court and concealed-carry permit holders.

When was the last time a concealed-carry permit holder shot a cop?

Mayor Jim Kenney: “It was a laid back, chill day — weather was beautiful, concert was beautiful, but we live in America, and we have the Second Amendment, and we have the [Supreme Court] telling everybody they can carry a gun wherever they want.”

The Supreme Court ruled against New York’s gun law that included strict rules for concealed carry in the state. Prior to this ruling, the state could decide who it wanted to have this right and who it didn’t.

Democrats were furious with the Supreme Court siding with American citizens and their right to self defense.
